Vehicle wear and tear is an unavoidable expense and is something that every car and bu has to take care of. Here are a few preventative measures that can be taken to prolong as much of it as you can for as long as possible:
- Speeding
Speeding up and slowing down constantly while driving can lead to a 20% increase in fuel consumption. Drive slow and steady and maintain the speed limit. - Anticipation
Try to look further ahead to see if robots might change before you get to them. This will stop you from having to stop and go and reduce brake wear and tear and save you on fuel. - Vehicle Tech
Engage in cruise control when driving on the open road to keep your vehicle at a steady speed, and, to also help you save on fuel. - Watch those RPMs
For the best fuel efficiency, try and keep them between2500 and 3000. Your engine will not need to work as hard and again, this will contribute to saving on fuel.
- Vehicle Idling
Did you know? Contrary to most beliefs, idling for longer than 10 seconds uses more fuel than fully restarting your car. When offloading goods or waiting for a passenger, rather switch off your car.
If you are a business owner and have employees driving work vehicles training them / giving them a few of the above tips could be an advantage and help you save money in the long run.
