Just announced: the most powerful GTI yet from Volkswagen!

Meet the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR Concept which was showcased to the world at the annual Worthersee Festival. The VW Golf GTI TCR (named after the European Touring Car Racing series) reaches a top speed of 263 kph and this gets us excited because Volkswagen has confirmed that it is near ready for production. This will be a road-going version of a racing car!

Sales and Board Manager of Volkswagen AG, Jurgen Stackmann, said that: “At the moment, the Golf GTI TCR Concept – an athlete derived from racing – is a study. However, at the end of the year we want to make this GTI version come true.” An experience like no other awaits with a modified version of the EA888 turbocharged 2.0 litre motor enhanced to be able to produce 213 kW and 370 Nm with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that will send the torque to the front wheels.

You can expect features such as 18-inch “Belvedere” forged aluminium alloy wheels which are standard, and you have the option of adding newly designed 19-inch alloys. Special perforated brake discs and callipers are fitted to enhance the stopping power. Then you have the option of adding on a package that removes the speed limiter, additional bigger wheels, adaptive damping and a sports chassis.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get better they have added a new front bumper and contoured front splitter along with exhaust tailpipes, side skirts and a rear diffuser. You can sit comfortably in new look sports seats and there is special stitching on the steering wheel and gear shifter.
Are you excited, because we can’t wait! Remember to contact us at WP Motors to get a pre-owned Volkswagen today!
